Tent lines Nui Dat

Home

Home for the next twelve months. Four soldiers to a tent, sandbagged against enemy mortar attack and air conditioned by nature. You were supplied with a canvas stretcher, a mozzie net, a metal trunk and the rest you had to scrounge yourself. Aussie ingenuity turned ammunition boxes and other scrap timber into practical furniture.

This photograph is of 7 Platoon Charlie Company lines early 1966.
