Battery of M109s preparing a fire mission

Fire Mission

Mobile guns of the 2nd Battalion /35th (Medium Self-Propelled) Artillery Regiment are seen here preparing for a fire mission. Note the 'ranging poles' in position. The battery has located itself to just off the southern side of Luscombe Field. The mobile guns are pointing to the north, probably in support of 6RAR as this photograph was taken by a 5RAR digger.
Again, you can just make out the shape of a red kangaroo on the machinegun shield of the mobile gun in the foreground indicating they were in support of the Aussies.
