Combat Team Charlie Flag

Soldiers of Combat Team Charlie had selected the Jackal as the theory was "Jackals are found throughout Afghanistan, are feared, ferocious and hunt in packs" - Major David French OC CTC.
It is also believed that the name "The Jackals" has some significance with the history behind recent conflict's 5 RAR has been involved in (Viet Nam, Iraq and Afghanistan), with Jackals having been a constant animal behind the scenes in all AO's
(Areas of Operations) which has made it a fitting element to the CTC flag. That the flag represents not only the Combat Team's role in Afghanistan but also where we as a Unit have come from to get here.

The Combat Team Charlie's motto was "Never Alone, Fight Together" (NAFT).
