The remarkable part about this story is that they travelled around Australia several times (in between having operations and hospital stays).
They fitted out a Kombi van and tied the wheelchair to the back. In 1991 they travelled to Tasmania then later in the year, Western Australia to catch up with some of Dad's army mates for ANZAC day.
Dad always had a good outlook on life, no matter how bad things got for him. Sometimes when they travelled he became sick and they would have to do hospital crawls. But they didn't let that stop them.
