5RAR TLBG-V Farewell Parade Darwin 2008
In October 2008 5 RAR deployed to Timor Leste as Battle Group 5 on Operation Astute, as part of the International Stabilisation Force in East Timor. After handing over to 2 RAR, the Battalion returned to Australia in June 2009.
