10 Platoon D Company Cools Off 2nd Tour

A 10 Platoon D Company, 5RAR, cools off and refills water bottles from a creek running through a bamboo forest in South Vietnam in 1969.
A digger on the bank at right keeps guard—weapon ready. During the wet season, water was readily available in small creeks and streams. The dry season was a problem as the creeks and streams would dry up and the battalion would need water to be supplied in jerrycans by air.
Sergeant Brian London commanded 10 Platoon during the battle of Binh Ba where he was awarded the DCM. (Distinguish Conduct Medal). He wrote a personal account of the battle. (See Battle of Binh Ba section)
